1/ Seb - points taken and will amend.

2/ Suggested change - I was also thinking of adding something along
lines of ...

introduction
when you look back in history and you think of the great projects it was
done by people not companies. So when one looks at St Pauls Cathedral
you dont think of "Grumbles and Grumbles Builders of Whitefriars" -
rather you think Christopher Wren. The same is true of great bridges for
example over the First of Forth - you dont think "Mackintock and Gruber
plc" rather people think Brunell. The analogy I am thinking to make here
is that in prior times it was individuals who brought us great advances
and that in terms of open source these gov people need to get out of
the mindset of TT&T plc and instead think more in terms of great
individuals.

protection for the client
The other thing i was thinking to pick up on was the point that was to
us about cover in the event of bankruptcy of oss companies. I have done
some checking and both an insurance a banking option may be able to be
put in place to insure companies who are members of the association. Its
similar to the idea of bonds given by builders or performance bonds
given by companies or travel premiums paid by travel agencies.

both ideas may be slightly potty so please shout.
